Discovery Ridge Community Info

The community of Discovery Ridge is a newer community that lies on the outskirts of the Southwest quadrant of Calgary. The community was established in the 1990s and was originally destined to be a gated community. This idea was dismissed and now the neighborhood offers great family homes and public access. Discovery Ridge is bordered by the Glenmore Trail to the north, 69th Street W to the east, the City Limits to the west and the Tsuu T'ina Reserve to the south. The neighborhood has an expanding community association and is represented by Ward 6 in the Calgary City Council.

 

One of the greatest draws of living here is its proximity to the Griffith Woods Environmental Park. This natural area is being preserved which means that the community will not be overdeveloped, keeping it a great place to raise a family or retire to. The woods also provide recreational activity in the form of walking, cycling, running or horse riding.
