Airdrie’s largest community is King’s Heights on the south eastern edge of the city.  King’s Heights is east of Queen Elizabeth II Highway, accessible by Yankee Valley Blvd which borders the community to the north with Kingsview Blvd to the west.  With a population of 3,824 and growing, King’s Heights is a diverse mix of single family detached homes, attached homes and multi-family structures. The average price is $445,868. The master design plan for the community reflects very traditional themes such as Tudor, Craftsman and Georgian Colonial styles. An elegant stone arch reflects a royal theme fitting the community’s name.  There are two reflection ponds in the community, home to ducks and geese in summer months. Residents enjoy five km of paved walking/biking paths, which connect to the 80 km pathway system winding throughout the city of Airdrie.

Kings Heights has a large commercial centre, offering residents a hardware store, drug store and quick serve restaurants along with the fully equipped Oasis Medical Centre, with medical clinic, dentist, chiropractor and optometrist.  Just five minutes west along Yankee Valley Blvd, there are big box stores and more restaurants, with the landmark Cross Iron Mills shopping centre and theatres just 10 minutes south of the city. With community planners optimizing green space, Airdrie is a very active family community, with soccer fields, baseball diamonds and many indoor arenas. Genesis Place is just five minutes north along East Lake Blvd, and is next to Bert Church High School and Bert Church Theatre.  Meadowbrook Middle School is also in the community north of Kings Heights, with two sites in the community designed for new schools in the Rocky View system currently awaiting development. Separate schools are maintained by the Calgary Catholic School Board. There is also a French Immersion school accepting students in Airdrie.
