Lakeview Community Info

The community of Lakeview in the south-western quadrant of Calgary is one of the most sought after areas in the city. The land on which the neighborhood sits was integrated into the city in 1956 and was developed in 1962. Lakeview is bordered by the Glenmore Trail to the north, the Crowchild Trail to the east, Glenmore Park to the south and 37th Street to the west. The neighborhood has an active community association and is represented in Calgary City Council by Ward 11.

 

One of the best reasons to move here is for the magnificent views that can be seen from the windows. Many of the properties in the community have scenery which includes the Elbow River Valley and the Glenmore Lake, on which the neighborhood sits. This location also means that there are plenty of recreational activities nearby including the Heritage Park Historical Village, the Weaselhead Hiking Trails, Earl Grey Golf Club and Glenmore Athletic Park. The community also has one of the most active community associations to be found in the southwest quadrant. The community building has amenities such as meeting rooms, a standard kitchen, an indoor fireplace, a sound system, tennis courts, playing fields and an outdoor skating rink for residents to use. The associational also runs many programs including martial arts lessons, knitting classes, Tai chi, Guides, Scouts and the Boys & Girls Club.
