NW Calgary Homes For Sale

NW Calgary is a large and diverse area, with roughly 250,000 people established in all of its communities. Transportation for residents is ample. Route 201 of the Calgary C-Train light rail system has 4 stations in the NW suburbs:


    • Banff Trail Station: Banff Trail & 23 Ave

    • University Station: University of Calgary

    • Brentwood Station: Crowchild Trail & 40 Ave

    • Dalhousie Station: Crowchild Trail & Dalhousie Drive

Crowfoot station is the  northern terminus of Route 201, and is adjacent to the community of Scenic Acres. The Calgary Transit bus system services most areas of NW Calgary. Drivers have their choice of major routes to downtown and elsewhere. For those who eschew motorized vehicle transport, there are over 600 km of paths, trails and bike lanes that they can use to cycle to other part of the city.

Schools:

NW Calgary is largely in the Calgary Board of Education\'s Area I. Some communities fall into Area II, including Country Hills, Coventry Hills, and Panorama Hills. There are 36 public schools in NW Calgary and 26 schools operated by the Calgary Catholic School District.

Parks & Recreation:

Some of these views are of the Rocky Mountains, where less than 2 hours by car will have a family in the heart of Banff National Park. From there, it is a relatively short driving distance of the four other National Parks in the area: Jasper, Yoho and Kootenay, and Glacier as well as the many provincial parks of SW British Columbia.


Closer to home, Nose Hill Park is located within NW Calgary, just south of the neighborhood of MacEwan. It is just north of John Laurie Blvd, east of Shaganappi Trail NW and east of 14 St NW. There are a number of parking areas and access points. Nose Hill Park is a natural environment, developed only with walking and cycling trails. It is home to over 200 wildlife species and is the site for many rare plants.


All manner of outdoor pursuits are supported in the area, from horseback riding to cross-country skiing in the winter. There are many public tennis courts, sports fields and playgrounds. Shaganappi Point Golf Course offers 27 holes of top-rated golf.


There are several indoor venues for physical fun and games. Three aquatic centres; Sir Winston Churchill Aquatic, Shouldice Aquatic Centre, and the Foothills Aquatic Centre provide swimming and fitness facilities.
