Patterson Heights Community Info

The community of Patterson Heights is one of the younger neighborhoods that is located in the Southwest quadrant of the city of Calgary. The community was named after the Patterson family who owned most of the land on which the community now sits. The land was integrated into Calgary in 1956 but Patterson Heights was not developed until 1983. The community is bordered by the Sarcee Trail to the north and east, 69th Street to the west and the Bow Trail Extension to the south. The neighborhood has a busy community association and is represented in the Calgary City Council by Ward 6.

 

One of the best things about living here is the spectacular views that the properties give. Most of the homes in the community offer spectacular views of the area thanks to the land being slightly elevated. The community has plenty of green space, which makes it the ideal place in which to raise a family. The association has its own community center located along the Old Banff Coach Road which provides amenities such as soccer pitches, playgrounds, baseball diamonds and an outdoor skating rink. There are many programs for residents to enjoy including Guides, Scouts, Bridge Club, Tae Kwan Do lessons, yoga and baton twirling classes. Patterson Heights does not have any educational facilities at present but has such great transport links to the rest of the city and neighboring communities for school-aged children and for those who need to commute for work. Shopping opportunities are located within easy reach at the community of West Springs. The Bow Trail also provides easy access to the Downtown core of the city.
