Strathcona Park Community Info

 

The community of Strathcona Park is one of the younger but well established communities to be found in the Southwest quadrant of Calgary. The land on which the neighborhood sits was integrated into the city in 1956 but development of the neighborhood did not begin until 1980. Strathcona Park is bordered by the Bow Trail to the north, Strathcona Drive to the south, the Sarcee Trail to the east and 85th Street W to the west. The neighborhood has a vibrant community association and is represented in Calgary City Council by Ward 6.

 

Strathcona is a ten minute drive away from the Downtown core and provides easy access to all other areas of the city via the Bow Trail and the Sarcee Trail. These factors make Strathcona Park a much sought after community to reside in for professional couples. The neighborhood is also within close proximity to many great recreational areas of Calgary including Strathcona Park, Shaganappi Golf Course, Edworthy Park and the Optimist Athletic Park. The community association has its own wonderful building for residents to use at their leisure with many wonderful amenities including meeting rooms, a commercial kitchen, a stage, an outdoor BBQ area, tennis courts, sports fields and an outdoor skating rink.
