Valley Ridge Community Info

 

The community of Valley Ridge is one of the newer neighborhoods to come out of the west district of the city of Calgary. Established in 1992, the community sits on what was once the Happy Valley Campground. The community is bounded by the City Limits to the west, the Bow River to the north, the Stoney Trail to the east and 16th Avenue to the south. The community has its own established association and is represented in the Calgary City Council by Ward 1.

 

One of the best things about Valley Ridge is that you are guaranteed fantastic views no matter where you look. Residents can take advantage of great views of the Bow River, Nose Hill Park and its own 18 hole Golf Course. Nature lovers will be thrilled at the amount of green space in the community and there are plenty of ravines and escarpments for the children to explore. There are no schools in the area at the moment but students can attend excellent schools in neighboring communities. The community association does not have its own hall at the moment but there are plans to have one built in the foreseeable future. This does not stop the association from providing a variety of programs and events for residents to enjoy such s Scouts, Guides, a Block Parents chapter, playgroups and summer BBQs. Residents also have access to a skating rink and playing fields within the borders of the community.
