Williamstown Real Estate Listings

The north west community of Williamstown was named in honour of William McKenzie, an Alberta pioneer instrumental in building the Edmonton to Calgary rail line.  It is located north of Veteran’s Blvd (Highway 567) and is bounded by the Nose Creek Preserve to the east. The population is approximately 1,593 with 800 new families that now call Williamstown home.

Williamstown offers a variety of upscale home styles in the Arts and Crafts architectural style.  There are bungalows, single family attached and detached homes available in this community, many with large, private yards. The highlights of this area are the Williamstown Nose Creek Environmental Preserve, a large protected wetland flanked by trails, crossed by foot bridges offering 60 acres of unspoiled, natural beauty. The Williamstown Traffic Circle is a conversation piece as well as a traffic calming measure and adds to the old world charm of the neighbourhood.

Shopping and restaurant are as close as downtown Airdrie or a few minutes south along Yankee Valley Blvd, offering the major retails and big box store selection you’ll find in the big city. Cross Iron Mills, just 10 minutes south at Balzac, is one of Alberta’s largest malls with shops, more restaurants and movie theatres. Medical and dental facilities are close by as well. No need to go to the city for anything other than work or play. Queen Elizabeth II Highway offers commuters a quick 25 minute drive downtown or to the airport or the Trans-Canada Highway west to Banff.

Heron’s Crossing School services students in the neighbourhood with George McDougall High School a very short bike ride, bus trip or drive away. There are several separate schools in Airdrie under the Calgary Catholic School Board, as well as a Francophone school and private schools.
