Windsong Real Estate Listings

Windsong is a relatively new community in the south west Airdrie district where construction is now complete on the 150 units in the community.  It is bordered by 8 St SW to the east and 40 Ave SW on the south side. The neighbourhood is easily accessible from Yankee Valley Blvd, one of Airdrie’s main arteries.

The population as of 2014 was 2,724 which includes 1,000 families.  Residents enjoy beautiful views of the mountains and the gentle slope of prairie grasslands to the west.  The average price point in Windsong is $428,000 in this architecturally controlled neighbourhood. Homes in this area are noted for larger windows allowing for more natural light in the homes, for a preponderance of front verandahs and second storey balconies which encourage socializing with neighbours and the option of having a single attached front drive garage in addition to double front drive models.  Many homes are built on slightly wider lots as well.

Windsong is a community connected to neighbouring districts with pathways, part of the 80 km system planned and constructed by the City of Airdrie.   The 1,000 families who call Windsong home enjoy close proximity to hockey rinks, baseball diamonds and soccer fields. Genesis Place is a superb recreational facilities just a quick jaunt east on Yankee Valley Blvd as is Bert Church High School and the Bert Church Theatre.  

There are sites reserved for schools in Windsong, but elementary schools, middle and high schools are far more accessible in Airdrie than in the big city so less time is spent in the car. Some are close enough to bike to or take a short journey on the bus.  Airdrie is served by the Rock View School District and the Calgary Catholic School Board, with private schools available.
